My name is Cher Frampton, designer and owner of Raven Muse.
I started out my graphic design career not by decision, but rather more by fate. In 1995 my oldest son was diagnosed with autism. At that time I was told that only 1 in every 10,000 children born had autism. Today, that number is 1 in every 110. In late of 1998 I joined a small group of parents and helped to start up Autism Delaware, a 501 (c ) (3) state wide non-profit organization dedicated to helping families and individuals living with autism. I left the first meeting being volunteered to do our first website and since then we have evolved from our kitchen tables to a million dollar operating budget a year and growing with professional staff and an adult’s services division. So over night I went from an anxious mom concerned about her child to foundation member, parent advocate and webmaster of the new organisation. www.delautism.org
I am currently our project manager and in charge of graphic design for all events and special public awareness or legislative campaign needs. This has given me a wide range of experience from simple business cards, to corporate media kits, 60 foot wide highway billboards and I have even had my artwork featured on NASCAR Cup cars for autism awareness in past years.
This is my ninth year as event coordinator for the Drive for Autism Celebrity-Am Golf Outing, our main fundraiser. You can learn a bit about it by clicking ->here<-.
I have also worked on 3 major walks, 11 black tie silent auctions and participated in the 2001 event Cycle USA (Understanding and Solving Autism) as webmaster. Cycle USA was a 6,700 mile bike ride across the United States from New York City to San Diego to raise public awareness and funds for autism related services/research. It was lead by Canadian Sgt. John Keating.
I find adventure in every project I have the pleasure of working on and enjoy the spirit of grassroots’ initiatives and small business owners.
